Open afternoon at the Institute of Astronomy

Saturday 19 March: 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Rise, Madingley Road, CB3 0HA

The Institute of Astronomy opens its doors for an afternoon of hands-on activities, demonstrations, talks and displays all around our lovely wooded site. Come along to meet the scientists and the telescopes, and learn more about both astronomy and the research we do.

Find out what happens when galaxies collide, or investigate possible holiday destinations at the Exoplanet Travel Bureau; watch out for visiting cybermen, Doctors, K9 and a dalek from our friends at the 15th Cyber Legion.

There will also be an exhibition and short talks exploring 'The history of Astronomy in ten books' from the historical archives of the Observatory library, meteorites on display, and a chance to rest your feet with a cup of tea at the Starlite Cafe. And much, much more besides...
