Smart building, smart construction

Saturday 16 March: 1:00pm - 4:30pm

Department of Engineering, James Dyson Building, Trumpington Street, CB2 1PZ

We are bringing everyday structures to life by using fibre optics, augmented reality, virtual reality and other technologies to monitor and understand how our infrastructure contends with modern use, so that we can improve the future of design, construction and management, and make it more efficient.

Join researchers from the Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction and the Laing O’Rourke Centre for Construction, Engineering and Technology for hands-on demonstrations, including Microsoft HoloLens, acoustic sensing, fibre optic sensing and discover how we use technology to make our infrastructure smart.
