Girton 150 Founders’ Science Lecture: atoms in action

Tuesday 12 March: 5:45pm - 7:00pm

The Founders' Science Lecture is presented by Dame Professor Pratibha Gai FREng, FRS. Chair of Electron Microscopy and Founding Co Director at The York JEOL Nanocentre, she is one of Britain’s best known physicists and the first to create a microscope capable of perceiving chemical reactions at the atomic scale. Reflecting something of her Girton heritage, she has not patented that machine, to ensure that its scientific potential is realised to the full.
